This project is dedicated to my Mother and my best friend. This was her favorite color and she fell in love with all the little Seramas I had when she was sick, they would sit in her lap and sleep ... it all happened so fast, I still have a hard time believing that she is truly gone ... Far to early and far to young ... I never dreamed I would be without her so soon ... I miss her deeply and more every day ... I know I will see her again ... but until then she remains in my heart and in our memories.
50% of all the sales on my Millie Fleur line will go to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund in hopes that one day we can beat this awful disease so that no one else will loose a Wife, a Mother, a Sister or Daughter ...
Diagnosed in late 2009 with Stage 4 Ovarian Cancer, with no symptoms or anything ... That morning they had been unloading hay for their Boer goat herd, she felt a pull in her side and thought perhaps it was a torn muscle or a hernia of some kind on her side. They went to the ER and 2 days later she was having emergency surgery to remove a 5lb tumor. The Doctors said they had gotten 98% of it out and could not do anything further ... 3 years of Chemo treatments some daily some weekly ... always having to drive back and forth... They decided to sell their farm and animals and move in with my ex-husband and I where Mom passed away November 21, 2012 ... I never thought the day would come when I would be without her ... My grandmother lived to almost 90 ... I thought I would have that same time ... or at least close ... Tomorrow is never a guarantee ... tell those you love them while you have the chance ... it will come all too soon that you will lose someone ... don't let them go without knowing how you truly feel about them ...

Mom's Millies
Chai was a wonderful gift from a dear friend of mine Jesus Dominguez. I had purchased a Frizzled rooster from him (Magi) and this gorgeous little girl was in there as well as a travel companion. She is now one of the lead hens in mom's line of Millie Fleur. Up until recently she had been paired up with Ricco Suave, now we have her with Bramble (below) our Frizzled Cock. Chai has a wonderful personality and just enough attitude to love her. She's a gentle hen with children and does not mind being toted around with them. She puts up well with almost anything and does well on the Table during shows. Due to the fact that we only have just one Millie hen/Rooster pair right now we do not run the risk of them being stressed out or catch something while there, they stay home in their breeding pens. She weighs in at 14oz so is a good mid size hen, laying every day so far and has raised several clutches of babies when I cannot keep her from going broody on me. We like to hand raise our babies so they have a calmer disposition as adults.
Bramble is our Frizzled Millie Fleur Rooster we got to replace Ricco Suave when we lost him in January... Bramble has a great wing set when he is comfortable where he is and quite the personality. He does not quite hold still long enough to get a good photo of him so you get a bit of a slide show of him goofing around on our practice area. He is still leery about being around people as he was not held much before we got him. While not a complete spaz, he would much rather to be left alone on the table and do his own thing. Posing is not in his vocabulary as of yet but we will work on him. He weighs just over 17oz so is one of our larger boys, but still falls within the "C" class. We have not yet had the opportunity to show him yet, I am hoping that I can get him to at least 1-2 shows during the 2014 show season. Paired up now with Chai our smooth Millie Fleur hen, I cannot wait till she starts laying eggs and I can get them set in the incubator! Stay tuned for photo's of the babies just as soon as we possibly can!
